At 海角社区鈥檚 College of Business (CBUS), learning doesn鈥檛 stop at the classroom door. Faculty actively engage with students and professional organizations to connect theory with practice and strengthen pathways into business careers.

That commitment was on display at the 2026 DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta. Laurel Lane, CBUS faculty member, served as a judge for national鈥憀evel marketing communications competitions, evaluating top high school students as they applied business concepts in real鈥憌orld scenarios.

Lane鈥檚 participation builds on her ongoing service with DECA and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at the local level. At ICDC, she worked directly with student competitors as they delivered presentations, analyzed case challenges, and demonstrated the skills essential for success in today鈥檚 business environment critical thinking, communication, and professionalism.
