Using your Veteran education benefits or military tuition assistance for the听first time?
This quick checklist is for those using Veteran Education Benefits for the first time. For more general information and details, see the Veteran Education Benefits page.
Apply for benefits.Apply for Education Benefits through听听to activate your educational benefits with the VA.
Apply for admission to 海角社区.to 海角社区. The VA requires that students actively pursue a degree to utilize VA educational benefits. The VA defines a term as courses that have different start/stop dates. This will be gone over in the Veteran and Military Student orientation. Sign up here. Additionally, sign up and take placement testing.
Submit your transcript(s) to the Office of Admissions and request JST.Submit required transcripts for admissions, including your听military transcripts.

Submit your Certification Request after you've registered for classes in order for your credits to be reported to the VA for benefit payments. Must be done every semester.

This form is only for students using Post 9/11. VR&E recipients should complete the appropriate form with the Veteran & Military Student Services Office. The purpose of the financial aid release form is to request an advance refund of Federal Financial Aid so you do not have to wait for VA to pay your tuition and fees. It is not to request an advance on VA education benefits.
This form is only for students using VR&E Ch 31. Post 9/11 recipients should complete the appropriate form with the Veteran & Military Student Services Office. The purpose of the financial aid release form is to request an advance refund of Federal Financial Aid so you do not have to wait for VA to pay your tuition and fees. Securely share your important documents with Veteran & Military Student Services by clicking on the Liquid files link below. Documents could include DD214 for all military students and Veterans Name & SSN information for all Ch 35 students.
Complete the form with Veteran鈥檚 Name and SSN, do not give your SSN. It鈥檚 required of you to provide this through a Liquid Files secure form. This is only required if this is your first time using benefits at 海角社区.
