Bio

Dr. Gabrielle Katz is the chair of the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and a Professor or Geography. She specializes in physical geography, with a research focus on river dynamics and riparian (floodplain) forest ecosystems. She teaches a variety of classes, including Introduction to Physical Geography, Global Water Concerns, Biogeography, and Hydrology (Surface Water). Outside of work, you can find her hiking with her family and their two dogs, or enjoying local music festivals and concerts.
