Research Interests

The planned Industry 4.0 Center of Excellence (COE) at Auraria will bring together the three institutions on Auraria Campus (海角社区, Community College of Denver and University of Colorado-Denver), manufacturing industry trade associations and private industry employers to develop, scale and lead adoption efforts in advanced manufacturing. Between 2020 and 2030, Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute report an estimated 4M jobs available, many of which will be here in Colorado, home to over 5,000 manufacturers. Ultimately, the need to accelerate the commercialization and innovation of advanced industry products and services can be addressed by building infrastructure and a workforce pipeline for the advanced industries ecosystem. The Industry 4.0 COE aligns with the strategic vision of the University in several ways, and very specifically in terms of building an agile and sustainable institution. AMSI will contribute to revenue through two avenues: 1) through increased student enrollment; and 2) attracting industry partners that will pay to utilize AMSI鈥檚 state-of-the-art equipment and labs as well as gain access to AMSI students. To actualize this vision, investment will ensure students have access to experiential learning and that industry partners will access the labs at 海角社区 as demonstration sites for emerging and cutting-edge technology.
