Bio

After earning a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree in 1996 from the University of Michigan, I spent most of my career as a hospital pharmacist for 22 years. Although I loved helping patients and the healthcare team by providing drug information, it became clear that allopathy had its limitations. A strong desire to investigate holistic and alternative therapies lead me to pursue a 4-year Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner in 2018. I also completed 200-hour yoga teacher training in February 2022. Currently, I teach Ayurveda, Botanical Pharmacology, Dynamics of Health, Dimensions, of Wellness, and Medical Terminology at MSU-Denver and absolutely love being an affiliate faculty in the Integrative Healthcare Program! I believe an integrative approach to healing that incorporates ayurvedic herbs, lifestyle, diet, mantra, and appropriate allopathic medications, can be extremely effective for healing individuals.

Teaching Interests

My teaching philosophy emphasizes relevance, inclusivity, and real-world application. Drawing from over two decades of clinical pharmacy experience and informal training in integrative health, I connect evidence-based pharmacotherapy with holistic and botanical approaches to patient care.
I strive to create student-centered learning environments that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and professional confidence. Through case-based discussion and experiential learning, students move beyond memorization to meaningful clinical and lifestyle application.
My goal is to help learners communicate effectively, think independently, and develop a lifelong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
