2026 Intern Bios

Hawa Tallo Sow

Hawa Tallo Sow is an International Business student at º£½ÇÉçÇø with a strong commitment to advocacy, leadership, and community impact. Born to Senegalese parents and raised in Denver, she has built a growing presence in public service through her work as a Young Advocate with Young Invincibles, where she serves on the Colorado Student Voice Coalition. In this role, she focuses on educational equity and ensuring that students, especially those from immigrant and underrepresented backgrounds, have a voice in shaping policy and access to resources across Colorado.

Hawa earned her Colorado real estate license shortly after earning her Associate of Arts degree in Business from the Community College of Aurora and currently works as a Qualified Medication Aid at an assisted living facility. Her experience supporting older adults with care, communication, and detailed medication management has strengthened her sense of responsibility and service. With a deep interest in federal service, global development, and community-centered policy, Hawa looks forward to expanding her leadership skills as a 2026 Presidential Federal Intern and contributing to initiatives that broaden opportunities for all.

Emanuel Mendoza

Emanuel Mendoza is a is a first–generationÌýº£½ÇÉçÇøÌýstudent double majoring in Exercise Science and Psychology.ÌýÌýEmanuel has a strong commitment to health equity which wasÌý´Ú´Ç°ù³¾±ð»å b²âÌýpersonal experiencesÌýduring his childhood inÌýa low-income environment, where heÌýwitnessedÌýsystemic barriers preventing community members from receiving proper medical attention. As a Colorado Access Health Scholar, Emanuel has created a network of individuals who have the desire to address the inequities in healthcare and provide access to resources for those less fortunate.Ìý

Currently, Emanuel serves as a Reisher Peer Advocate, where he and the Reisher team plan ways to strengthen bonds between the 70 scholarship recipients and support them throughout their academic journey at º£½ÇÉçÇø. By collaborating with multiple campus units, he has helped create multiple community building events for the scholarship program. Through this, Emanuel has become a leader, advocate, and mentor.Ìý

As a 2026 Federal Presidential Intern, Emanuel will do a Legislative Internship in the Office of Senator Michael Bennet.”Ìý

 

Kaden Henry

Kaden Henry is a Political Science major in her Junior Year at º£½ÇÉçÇø who is drawn to public service and pursuing a career in the legal field. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Kaden now lives in Denver, where she focuses on building a future centered on legal advocacy, public service, and ensuring equal access to justice.ÌýÌýDuring her time at MSU, Kaden has pursued opportunities that reflect her passion for helping others and strengthening her community. She is an active member of the university’s Mock Trial team, where she has developed skills in courtroom advocacy, evidentiary analysis, and oral arguments.ÌýÌý

Outside of her involvement with the university, Kaden enjoys local volunteer work that supports individuals and families in her community.ÌýÌýKaden isÌýcurrently anÌýinternÌýatÌýthe Denver District Attorney’s Office Family Violence Unit, where she supports andÌýobservesÌýthe prosecution of domestic and family violence cases. This experience aligns with her long-term interest in criminal prosecution and victim advocacy. With plans to attend law school, Kaden is a highly motivated,ÌýpassionateÌýand dedicated student who aspires to a career in law and public service grounded in empathy, integrity, and community-focused advocacy.Ìý

Kaden looks forward to her participation in the 2026 Presidential Federal Internship Program, and as part of that program, she will do a legislative internship in the Office of Senator John Hickenlooper.

 

 

Piper Mussato

Piper Mussato is a Journalism and Public Relations major with a deep commitment to public service and civic engagement. SheÌýmaintainsÌýa 3.92 GPA and is the recipient of a full‑tuition academic scholarship, reflecting her dedication to academic excellence. Piper is especially interested in the ways government institutions influence public discourse and shape community outcomes.Ìý

Motivated by a passion for service, she aims to pursue roles that contribute to meaningful policy development, communication, and advocacy. During her time in Washington, DC, she hopes to gain hands‑on experience with government agencies on Capitol Hill and develop a deeper understanding of the democratic process. Long-term, Piper plans toÌýleverageÌýthis experience to support transparent, informed, and responsible journalism that helps the public navigate complex policy issues.Ìý

As a 2026 º£½ÇÉçÇø Presidential Federal Intern, Piper looks forward to her legislative internship in the Office of Senator John Hickenlooper.
