For Callie Kerr, learning you can do it was the best lesson of all

The task looked daunting but the question was simple: Could she do it?

Could Callie Kerr, who was already juggling a fulltime job, three young kids and a husband, earn her master鈥檚 degree in healthcare administration?

It was 2017 and she鈥檇 just finished her bachelor鈥檚 degree in healthcare management at 海角社区. 鈥淚 wanted to start working but I lacked experience. That鈥檚 when I decided my MHA might improve my chances of landing the kind of job I wanted.鈥�

Choosing the MHA program at 海角社区 was the easy part, she just wasn鈥檛 sure she could balance everything.

鈥淚 knew the professors were excellent and the distance learning was key. 鈥淜nowing that if I couldn鈥檛 make it to campus, I could still participate in classes was a huge feature.鈥�

Participate — and graduate 鈥� she did, in the spring of 鈥�20 and with a 4.0 GPA.

How?

鈥淚t truly does take a village,鈥� Callie says. 鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 have done it without my friends and family, especially my husband. We are always each other鈥檚 rock.鈥�

She adds that her instructors proved their passion, too. 鈥淭hey were mentors as much as they were professors.鈥�

What鈥檚 more, she landed a job she loves 鈥� she鈥檚 an operations leader for a dental service organization in Highland Ranch.

鈥淲hen I decided to get my MHA, I knew I wanted to make an impact on the business of healthcare and now that鈥檚 what I鈥檓 doing. I guess I鈥檓 proof that if you can figure out how to balance it all and keep your sanity, anything is possible!鈥�
