Hi! My name is Iman, and I鈥檓 a junior, majoring in Marketing at 海角社区.
What does a typical day look like for you during the semester?
A typical day for me is being on campus on Mondays and Wednesdays, and typically I will be studying on campus, and then during free time I’ll get food or work out.
What brought you to 海角社区?
What brought me to MSU was I originally planned on going to CU Boulder, but I ultimately chose 海角社区 because I realized how important it was for me to stay local and connected to my community. I liked that 海角社区 gave me the opportunity to stay close to home while still having a strong college experience in the heart of Denver.
What area of business are you most passionate about?
I’m passionate about marketing and customer experience. I really love when companies build authentic relationships with other people.
What鈥檚 your favorite College of Business memory so far?
My favorite College of Business memory so far was the drive-in movie they hosted. We got to watch Sinners, and having Waka Flocka Flame come to 海角社区 was also very fun.
What鈥檚 one piece of advice for new students? And/or what鈥檚 something you wish you knew before college?
A piece of advice I would give to new students coming to 海角社区 is to remember that everyone鈥檚 college experience looks different. As a transfer student, I felt like there was a lot of pressure to immediately get involved, find my place, and meet people I could trust. I鈥檝e learned that it鈥檚 okay to take your time and build a routine that works for you. Whether that means taking a certain number of classes or credits each semester, joining organizations when you feel ready, or slowly finding your community on campus, you don鈥檛 have to follow the same timeline as everyone else. Make your college experience your own and find what makes you feel comfortable and supported.
