Why Study International Business Online at º£½ÇÉçÇø

The Online International Business B.S. is built for people who want to work across borders, currencies, and cultures. You finish the same 120-credit Bachelor of Science as on-campus students, with the same International Business core and the same senior-experience capstone, taught fully online.

The degree sits inside º£½ÇÉçÇø’s College of Business, a distinction held by fewer than 6 percent of business schools worldwide. That mark tells employers and graduate programs your degree met the highest international standard for business education.

You graduate ready to work in international trade, global marketing, supply chain, and cross-border management roles, with the option to pair your degree with a functional business minor in areas like marketing, finance, or CIS.

Faculty Who Work Across Borders

Your instructors teach international business because they live it.

For example, Department Chair Dr. Debbie Gilliard built º£½ÇÉçÇø’s global business programs and has worked across 91 countries. Dr. Angelica Bahl served as Marketing Director at Far-Eastern Commercial Bank in Russia and has consulted at Denver’s World Trade Center since 2004, in addition to holding visiting professor roles in India and Russia. Dr. Gina Cook directs º£½ÇÉçÇø’s International Business Programs and publishes on international marketing, cross-border communication campaigns, and internationalization in higher education.

You learn from people who have negotiated across time zones, adapted marketing strategies to unfamiliar markets, and built partnerships on three continents.

What You'll Learn in the Online International Business B.S.

The degree pairs the full Business Core with a set of international specialization courses, so you graduate fluent in both how business works and how it changes when it crosses a border. The coursework covers five threads.

The Business Core. Accounting, finance, marketing, management, business analytics, economics, and business law. The same foundation every º£½ÇÉçÇø business student builds, taught fully online.

International Trade and Global Markets. How goods, services, and capital move between countries, what shapes exchange rates and trade policy, and how tariffs, sanctions, and trade agreements affect real business decisions.

Global Marketing and Consumer Behavior. How brands adapt product, pricing, and messaging when they enter a new country, and how cultural difference changes what customers actually buy.

Cross-Cultural Management. How teams, negotiations, and leadership work when the people in the room bring different assumptions about hierarchy, time, communication, and risk.

International Strategy and Operations. How companies decide where to manufacture, how to structure global supply chains, and how to compete against firms operating under different rules.

Already in a Business Major? Add International Business as a Concentration.

If you are working toward another business degree and want the international layer without switching majors, º£½ÇÉçÇø offers a fully online International Business Concentration you can pair with any of these programs:

The concentration covers international trade, global marketing, and cross-cultural management in a shorter course sequence than the full major.

What Can You Do With an International Business Degree?

International business graduates work wherever a company crosses a border. That could be a Denver tech firm expanding into Southeast Asia, a global brand adapting its marketing for the Colorado market, a manufacturer sourcing components from three continents, or a nonprofit coordinating relief work across five countries. The through-line is the same: you understand how business works when the rules, currencies, and cultures change from one deal to the next.

The degree opens roles like:

  • International trade specialist
  • Global marketing manager
  • Import and export coordinator
  • Supply chain and logistics analyst
  • Foreign investment or economic development advisor
  • Cross-cultural training and consulting
  • International business development manager
  • Government trade or commerce officer

Colorado exports more than $10 billion in goods a year, with aerospace, medical devices, semiconductors, and food and beverage leading the mix. Denver International Airport is the sixth-busiest airport in the world and a growing hub for international cargo. Between the aerospace corridor along the Front Range, a fast-growing tech sector, an outdoor industry that ships worldwide, and a craft beverage industry that has taken Colorado brands into dozens of countries, graduates have room to build a career here as well as abroad. The degree is also a strong foundation for an MBA, a Master’s in International Business, or graduate work in economics, public policy, and international relations.
