Purpose statement

The purpose of the º£½ÇÉçÇø Women of Color Collective is to provide space to intentionally support and facilitate connections for faculty and staff who identify as women of color. The collective aims to provide a supportive and empowering community that addresses the unique experiences, challenges, and needs of women of color in the academic environment, promoting inclusivity, equity, and professional success.

Affinity groups like the Women of Color Collective play a crucial role in promoting and supporting faculty and staff through:

  • Representation & visibility
  • Networking & mentorship
  • Advocacy awareness
  • Leadership development
  • Cultural celebrations and events
