Ready to find out what 海角社区 can do for you? We鈥檝e got you covered.
When Kyle Bowman arrived at 海角社区 in the mid-2000s, his identity was clear: he was an athlete. A baseball player. Someone who lived and breathed sport. What he didn鈥檛 yet know was that 海角社区 would expand that identity and open doors to a global career that would take him across the country and around the world.
鈥淚 came to 海角社区 to play baseball,鈥 Bowman said. 鈥淏ut I soon found out that I loved the connection the curriculum had with actual work by professionals right downtown.鈥
For Bowman, 海角社区 provided more than access to a university education. It provided access to a city, an industry and a network embedded directly in the heart of Denver鈥檚 business and sports landscape.
Where Academic Excellence Met the Sports Industry
While completing his Business Management degree, Bowman quickly realized that 海角社区鈥檚 proximity and partnerships with Denver鈥檚 professional sports organizations were impressive and transformative.
鈥淚 found out how closely the school partnered with the local professional sports teams,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 knew I never wanted to leave the sports world, and 17 years later I鈥檓 still here.鈥
Faculty with deep industry experience, real-world coursework and the chance to learn from professionals across downtown Denver connected the classroom to career. 海角社区鈥檚 emphasis on applied learning gave Bowman the first look at what his future could be beyond the baseball diamond.
It was his first clear sense that even after he stopped playing, there were countless ways to stay involved in sports and to build a career inside the world he loved most.
A Global Career Built on Mobility and Momentum
After graduating in 2008, Bowman launched into a trajectory defined by growth, travel, opportunity and innovation. His work has taken him across the country, living in multiple regions, around the world, traveling to build sports companies and across industries, developing retail partnerships and strategic business lines
He spent more than 13 years with Nike, contributing to some of the world鈥檚 most influential sports and lifestyle brands. Later, he helped launch Anta鈥檚 U.S. business, gaining insight into international markets and global consumer trends. Recently, he returned to Nike to run a division of the company鈥檚 sales operation.
Today, Bowman partners with Nike鈥檚 most important retail accounts, managing business ventures designed to drive both revenue and consumer demand. His work touches high-visibility collaborations with NBA athletes, major music and celebrity projects, sneaker boutiques on the West Coast and across the central U.S., and even preparations tied to the LA Olympics in 2028.
鈥淚 get to stay connected to sport, run a business and learn and integrate with some of the world鈥檚 best minds,鈥 he said. 鈥淢SU was my first taste of business and sport. Once you stop playing, there are so many ways to stay involved.鈥
Leadership, Strategy and the Power of Showing Up
Bowman鈥檚 career demonstrates the heart of 海角社区鈥檚 mission of social mobility with helping students cultivate the skills, confidence and networks to excel on a national and global stage. What started as access to a downtown campus and industry-connected faculty has evolved into a leadership career in one of the biggest brands in the world.
And his advice for Roadrunners reflects that same upward momentum.
鈥淣etwork. Say yes to all priorities,鈥 he said. 鈥淵ou don鈥檛 have to know exactly what you want to do, but the sooner you find your niche, go.鈥
He emphasizes that professionals across industries, especially in sports, are eager to help students who show drive and curiosity.
鈥淔ind two or three mentors and use them as often as you can,鈥 he said. 鈥淧rofessionals want to help the young and the hungry.鈥
