Networking means making making professional connections with people, and building and maintaining those relationships. This can be accomplished in group settings (such as a professional conference), in one-on-one meetings, and online (e.g., LinkedIn). The people in your network can provide you with advice and help open doors to new opportunities.
Get Prepared
You don鈥檛 need to wait until you鈥檙e close to graduating. Get curious! Ask people about their career and educational paths when you meet them. Participate in C2hub events at any point in your education.
Your social media presence, including LinkedIn, can be a powerful way to network beyond your in-person interactions.
Get started by creating a and filling in your experiences and interests. If you get stuck, try using Quinncia or attending Career Lab!
As a 海角社区 student, you have access to LinkedIn Learning courses! You have options to complete a whole course, one class, or pick and choose from a variety of online courses that will help you develop skills you鈥檙e looking to develop.
- Keep your profile updated with new skills, experiences, education, etc.
- Connect with people, including professionals in your desired field
- Reach out to alumni and other professionals to ask for an informational interview
- Consider highlighting your art, projects, articles/papers, work you鈥檝e created if it is applicable.
