Academic Advising for Physics

As a º£½ÇÉçÇø student, you have access to professional academic advisors and physics faculty advisors. We advise you to meet with an advisor at least once per semester.

Professional Academic Advising

Professional Academic Advisors can help you:

  • Explore and declare a major and/or minor
  • Design a class schedule
  • Design a multi-year academic plan
  • Help you use the registration system and the Degree Progress Report
  • Connect you with academic departments, financial aid, and other support offices
  • And much more!

Faculty Advising

All of our tenured faculty serve as Physics Faculty Advisors. Faculty Advisors:

  • Are experts in the field, and can give more specific advice associated with a Physics degree
  • Give specific recommendations about upper-division course selections
  • Assist students with identifying internship and career opportunities
  • Offer career guidance for students, both for industry and for graduate school
  • Write letters of recommendation
