Professor Bill Herman attended the PhD Project Member Association Conference on behalf of the 海角社区 College of Business. This organization is dedicated to ensuring that people from all backgrounds have the chance to enter and complete PhD programs in all business disciplines. Bill attended to meet current PhD students and faculty from around the country, help recruit future faculty, and build greater brand recognition for the college and university as a leader in inclusivity. 鈥淭he PhD Project has done more than any other organization in history to diversify collegiate business faculty鈥攁nd maybe collegiate faculty, period. I can’t name another organization that has brought over a thousand (brilliant!) people from historically under-represented groups into faculty roles. I don’t know of any academic organization that provides anything like this much support to its members. And I study this stuff!鈥�

For the second year, Bill said he couldn’t have had a warmer welcome nor a more enlightening experience at their annual conference.

Despite challenges, including threats of lawsuit and defunding that have led dozens of schools to withdraw, the PhD Project continues to thrive because of its effectiveness.
