Ready to find out what º£½ÇÉçÇø can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
In the P2W! program, º£½ÇÉçÇø Psychology majors and Human Development and Family Studies majors spend a day at a local workplace. Students follow professionals during the workday to learn first-hand what their job and workplace environment is really like. Students complete a comprehensive non-credit earning course, spanning the academic year, which includes over 20 professional development activities. The activities included LinkedIn Learning certificates, discussions with peers, and assignments on topics such as networking, giving an elevator pitch, and resume writing. By participating in P2W! students will learn about professionalism in the workplace, write a polished resume, network and build connections with professionals, build a LinkedIn page, and have the opportunity to build community and make friends with fellow P2W! students.
Why participate?
Explore psychology-related careers. Make valuable professional contacts. Discover the skills you’ll need to be a competitive job applicant. Make connections between classroom learning and the workplace. Receive guidance from professionals about your career path.
Is P2W! just a one-time job shadow experience?
NO! There is much more involved. Throughout the academic year, you will complete a series of professional development assignments online via the P2W! CANVAS platform. You will learn about professionalism, the best ways to network and introduce yourself, how to use LinkedIn, and you will update your resume.
I’ve already participated in a previous year, can I do it again?
Yes! You can join the Super Psyched to Work program! In SP2W! you will complete different CANVAS assignments and be given different job shadow opportunities.
When?
Shadowing experiences will occur in the 2027 spring semester, but you’ll be working on Canvas assignments throughout the academic year.
Earn the new P2W! Badge!
The Psyched to Work! badge is a digital credential you can proudly display on your LinkedIn profile, resume, or portfolio to signal to employers and grad schools that you are career ready. It represents real-world skills and hands-on experience, earned through P2W!
