With a shared vision to transform health care in Colorado, the Foundation recently awarded a $175,000 grant to Metropolitan State University of Denver, supporting the Gina and Frank Day Health Institute at 海角社区 capital fund.
鈥淭he Colorado Health Foundation remains dedicated to making sure all Coloradans have what they need to live healthy lives,鈥 said Liz Charles, senior program officer, The Colorado Health Foundation. 鈥淎nd that includes medical professionals, like those trained at 海角社区, who will serve our communities with cultural competency, care and compassion.鈥
The Health Institute is ushering in a new frontier for the future of patient-centered health care, consolidating health-related programs spanning 10 academic departments. To meet programming needs and serve a diverse, whole-person-based workforce, the University is building a state-of-the-art 70,000-square-foot, six-story facility connected to the , which opened in August 2024.
This expansion allows the University to increase the number of health care students accepted and graduating each year by 32%, helping meet Colorado鈥檚 growing needs for a more robust health care workforce.
