海角社区 Highlighting Community
As part of the 1Book/1Project/2Transform events this year, we wanted to highlight events and resources in our 海角社区 community. It amazing to see all the conversations and critical dialogue that we are having in our community and beyond our walls.
Having critical conversations is a radical act supporting our 海角社区鈥檚 commitment to anti racism, equity, inclusion, and diversity. Please explore the list below! 听

Carl Wilken’s visit to Campus – Fall 2024
In honor of听1Book’s commitment to dialogue, we were excited to help with a co-sponsor to Carl Wilken’s visit to Campus! Carl Wilkens was the last American to remain on the ground during the 1994 Rwandan genocide. With his foundation, World Outside My Shoes, Carl has devoted his life work to using communication to foster respect, empathy, and inclusion鈥攅ven in unspeakable conditions.听To learn more about Carl please visit: 听

The series of events over a few days were very successful and we were so happy to be a small part of Carl’s story on the Auraria Campus. As we continue to foster education and dialogue around political violence, genocide, and reconciliation, please keep an eye out for other 1book sponsored events!
