Anne Hovinen, MS, RDN

Biography

Anne Hovinen, MS, RDN, serves as the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Director and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Nutrition at º£½ÇÉçÇø. Her educational background combines science and nutrition, with a degree in Chemistry from the Colorado School of Mines and undergraduate and graduate degrees in Human Nutrition from Colorado State University.

For nearly 20 years, Hovinen has practiced and taught Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), a subject she is especially passionate about sharing with students. In addition to MNT, she teaches Introduction to Nutrition and Careers in Nutrition and Dietetics. To maintain her clinical expertise, she also works as a Registered Dietitian on a PRN basis at Swedish Medical Center.

As DPD Director, Hovinen is dedicated to helping students achieve their professional goals and prepare for successful careers in nutrition and dietetics. She regularly hosts DICAS application workshops, facilitates RDN exam review sessions, and leads hands-on training in Nutrition-Focused Physical Exams for Malnutrition. She is passionate about helping students connect classroom learning with practical application and provides opportunities for students to gain clinical insight through shadowing experiences at Swedish Medical Center.
