Open textbook review workshops provide faculty information about open textbooks, an introduction to creative commons licensing, and information about º£½ÇÉçÇø students and course materials costs. After attending a workshop, faculty then have the opportunity to review an open textbook in their field and earn $200 for sharing the review through the Open Education Network’s Open Textbook Library. The idea for open textbook review workshops comes out of Dr. David Ernst’s experience working with faculty at the University of Minnesota and through the Open Education Network. º£½ÇÉçÇø workshops are typically led by Dr. Emily Ragan and Auraria Librarian Karen Sobel.
Semester-long OER faculty learning communities meet seven times and explore a variety to topics related to finding and implementing OER in courses. These are typically held in fall and spring semesters. Reach out to Emily Ragan mailto:[email protected]
