Academic Advising for Future Business Students

rowdy picture海角社区鈥檚 College of Business (CBUS) is an excellent choice! We are located in the heart of downtown Denver, are Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business () accredited, are ranked in the 10% of universities for CollegeNet鈥檚 ; and are among the lowest tuition and fees of all the 4-year institutions in the State of Colorado.

Want to learn more about CBUS? 听You can review our undergraduate and graduate degrees, certificates, and minor听 program options. 听Check out our Viewbook, Business Buzz blog and Social Media posts on and Instagram (msudenver_cbus) to learn about our students, programs, curriculum, and upcoming and past events.

What should I know as a future CBUS student? 听After you apply, be Rowdy Ready by following these 4 steps:

  1. Sign up for the earliest possible registration and orientation sessions.
    • Classes fill up quickly and it鈥檚 important for CBUS students to get into prerequisite courses, like English and Math, because you will not be able to take many Business classes without them.students speak with advisors during event in a classroom
  2. Take the English Placement Survey.
    • You do not need to take the Survey if you are transferring in a College Composition Course or you scored a 470 on the R/W section of the SAT or an 18 or higher on the English Portion of the ACT within the past 5 years.
    • If your ACT/SAT scores are older than 5 years, you aren鈥檛 transferring in College Composition, or you aren鈥檛 sure if you need to take the Survey, then go ahead and take it (the survey takes less than two minutes to complete).听You can find the survey here:听.
  3. Take the Advanced Algebraic Functions (AAF Accuplacer) for Math Placement.
    • You do not need to take the AAF Accuplacer if your major is Entrepreneurship; you are transferring in MAT 0300; Finite Math; College Algebra; Pre-Calculus; Calculus I, II, or III; or you received a 500+ on the Math section of the SAT and/or a 19+ on the Math section of the ACT within the past 5 years.
    • We recommend taking the AAF Accuplacer for free on-campus at the Tivoli Testing Center. While you can take the AAF Accuplacer online, it costs approx. $30 due to the need for live proctoring.
    • You can find resources to help you prepare for the AAF Accuplacer.
  4. Complete all Admissions checklist This includes sending your final official High School transcript with your graduation date (if you have fewer than 24 transfer credits), your , and all official transcripts and AP, IB, CLEP or DSST test scores. Two students walking across campus with a green background
    • Missing steps will result in holds being placed on your account (these will prevent you from registering for future semesters) and/or may delay our ability to provide advising support, such as course recommendations, graduation plans, and class overrides.
    • While academic advisors can give course overrides for unofficial transcripts and test score reports, you will need to send official transcripts to 海角社区 Admissions to receive academic credit.
